3 surprise announcements at E3 2018 that would be excellent.

E3 has just about started and over the next few days we will see and hear about upcoming and new titles being developed. I for one am hoping to see some cool surprises hence I have made a list of 3 announcements that would be really great to see at this years E3 event.

Yakuza on Switch

The series has been steadily getting more and more popular in the west and it's popularity spiked even more with Yakuza 0. Soon we will have all Yakuza games on one platform as 3-5 are being ported to PS4 with 1080/60fps improvements, and an english release of the remake of 2 named Yakuza Kiwami 2, coming soon. It would be great for these to make there way to the switch as it should easily be able to run the engine used predominately on the PS3 and early PS4 Yakuza titles, while they would just need to rework or optimize the dragon engine a bit for 6 and Kiwami 2 for switch.

Parappa the Rapper 3 for PS4

Sony and the Parappa developers have not forgotten about the amazing series, as in recent years we have had a fighting game with Parappa, a remake of the first game, a port of the 2nd game, and even a new anime. There was even a 20th anniversary cafe and merch store I attended (more details in an earlier blog post of mine). I think we are long overdue another Parappa game with a mixture of different genres and music like the series but also with some newer genres of music and styles that have been made since. Even better would be if it has a full unlockable Um Jammer Lammy style mode with remixed/special versions of the songs, essentially making it like how finishing Um Jammer Lammy unlocked Parappa and remixed songs changed to fit Parappa's style.

Bravely Default HD Collection / Sequel

Bravely Default and Bravely Default Second on 3DS are terrific JRPGS. It would be great to see them on the switch as a collection or potentially a new sequel or spirital successor. The picture I used on this article is from a tweet which fueled speculation of a switch port or sequel. The director behind the series is hard at work with Octopath Traveller and has stated that more games are currently in development. Hopefully one of those indeed a HD Collection as it would be great to see the first two games in full HD as the art style was nice but the low resolution of the 3DS hindered it a bit. Ideally we would also get a proper version of Bravely Second as that game was gimped in the west with the side quest not having multiple choices like in the Japanese release.
