Video Game Cafes and related venues in Japan: Coverage Information.

While in Japan I will be attending some Video Game related cafes and bars. I have the capability to stream to my Twitch while I am attending these. I have double checked with others who attend similar events and I should be able to do so.

Chances are I will have to wait to get a spot so I will enable the stream or update as soon as possible around the times, so get in early and I will keep everyone informed. Updates will be posted in both the stream chat and via Facebook and Twitter.

In the worst case scenario and I can’t stream a particular event, I will be posting updates in the twitch and start the stream asap . Eventually I will post videos and summaries here and to my Youtube. I will also review the items I have ordered to.

The following days and times might be subject to change but I will update ASAP as things develop. Times listed are Japanese Local Time. These times are essentially correct but do give or take half hour to adjust for getting seated and ready so please bare with us. Show up early if you want as I can also chat while I wait to get in.

  • Parappa the Rapper 20th Anniversary Cafe: 17th May 2017, around 11 AM.
  • Artnia Square Enix Cafe Shinjuku (has different setup and menu): 18th May 2017, around 3 PM.
  • Capcom Bar: 18th May 2017, around 5 PM.

Persona 5 Cafe and Merch Store In Japan

While in Japan I had the chance to visit two of the five Persona 5 cafes as well as the limited time merchandise store as well.  I was able to make two visits to the Osaka cafe branch and one visit to the Ikebukuro cafe branch.  The merch store is located in Ikebukuro and was only 5 minute walk directly west from the cafe. Persona 5 Cafe All items are presented neatly, while some specific menu items have an object that directly references the game. Here are some items I personally enjoyed from the cafes. Food Leblanc Curry: Just the right amount of spiciness, with a nice amount of meat and not an over the top amount of curry sauce. Blended together to make a nice fusion of ingredients with some small cut wedges on top to add an extra nice touch. Parappa Cafe and Merch store

A short distance from the hotel I was staying at in Tokyo, is the massive Tokyo Skytree Tower. Nestled within the area is a surprisingly big area full of shops, cafes and all kinds of stores. There was also a 20th Anniversary Parappa the Rapper cafe and merch store being run as well. I was able to check out both to enjoy a nice lunch and pick up some cool merchandise too.   Nicely presented Parappa themed menu items which taste as good as they looked. Parappa Sandwich: While you may think it's just a simple sandwich it actually was amazing. The chicken was done very well and the vegetables with it amounted to one of the best sandwiches I ever had. Sunny Funny Egg Muffin: Nicely cooked egg with a great amount of yolk with some extra toppings including ham slices cut into flower petals and a side of fries to  PJ Peanut Butter and Chocolate: A nice sundae style dessert with a good mixture of peanut and chocolate with a cornflake base at the bottom of the cup. Tokyo Xanadu Thoughts and Opinions - Vita version with PS4 notes to come later.

While Falcom are a more niche team then most other JRPG developers, they still manage to make some all-round amazing games that are enjoyable. Recently their titles, both new ones and older ones, are slowly coming out in english more and more. After a two years wait, Tokyo Xanadu, a recent title they developed, was released on the PS Vita in English. The PS4 version is to be released later in the year. This review will focus on the Vita version, but once the PS4 version releases and I have finished all the new content, I will add an extra section down the bottom that will give my opinions and thoughts on the changes, additions and overall package of the PS4 edition. I am very much looking forward to it!   This game might share some similarities with Persona but also tries to be its own thing and does it very well.
